About Me

Name: Tammy Milsom

Height: 4ft 11"

How I got into bikes: I have had a passion for motorbikes since before i can remember. I grew up with envy watching my dad and brother with theirs. As a teenager I would drag my mates into the local bike shop each week and my wall was covered with brochures of the latest models with a few pop idols scattered here and there. Unfortunately I wasn't in a position to take my test until I was 21, but I am now making up for lost time.

Bikes owned: I learnt on a friends Honda CG125 (bless), but I had a Suzuki GSF400 Bandit waiting in the garage so it was a good job I passed first time. I had a BabyBlade (Honda CBR400RR) for a 3 1/2 years before recently purchasing my new baby, an 2004 Yamaha R6. I'm in love!

My other baby is a Honda CB400T, this is very special to me. This used to belong to my dad and then my brother, growing up I always said I was going to ride that bike one day. My dad gave it to my brother Chris for his 21 st , who a few years later moved up to a Honda CBR900F2 Supersport. This allowed my brother to take the CB off the road with the intention of tidying it up and displaying it at bike shows. However marriage and 2 adorable children, John and Sophie took priority and now finally it's mine. It is an on-going rebuild project, which a lot has already been done by a good friend, thanks Jim.

Ambitions: To get my knee down, my plans are to purchase a track bike in the next couple of months, so that means more track days (what a shame).

I have always wanted to be part of the bike world and be amongst the heroes. I love meeting people, experiencing new things and want to be in a position where I can gain these opportunities to then share it with others. This is where the journalims comes in. Besides bikes I love to travel and try activities such as quad biking, flying lessons etc.. so I hope to contribute to a variety of publications.

Hobbies: Apart from being with friends and family, I also help out an all girl racing team, Feisty Racing. I try to help the team out as much possible especially at race meetings and am luckily enough to write their race reports. It is great fun with brilliant people and some partying along the way.

I am also involved with the birmingham group of the IAM (Institute of advanced motorists). Again I have a great laugh with a good bunch of people. This is another opportunity to meet people and go for rideouts to a variety of places. I have obtained my advanced riding certificate with them and looking to do the RoSPA advanced test this year.
